How Do Babies Get Down There?

 

This is our Mo, in Jami's stomach. Babies have been the topic of discussion at our house thanks to our good friends, the VD's, who are now proud parents of two brand spanking new babies. So we asked Carter how babies get in mommy's tummies. His answer: the get down to mommy's tummies through their mouths.

What!?

On first thought, that's gross. It almost shocked me. It immediately gave me flashbacks back to my childhood when I walked in on our dog eating her puppies that were just born. I'm getting the watery mouth before the throw up just thinking about it.

But when I thought about it some more, it actually makes sense. I mean, Carter knows that food goes to your tummy. And that goes in your mouth. So it would make sense to him that babies get to mommy's tummies the same way.

There's got to be a spiritual metaphor in here somewhere, like when I find myself still getting shocked over something someone does who doesn't know Jesus. That's all they know. And it makes sense to me.
